Island Occupational Medical Resources, P.C. (IOMR) was established in 1995, by Jorge L. Gardyn, M.D., F.A.C.P., to provide high quality occupational medical examinations.

 

IOMR has grown to provide service to more than 400 corporate, environmental and transportation companies in Nassau and Suffolk counties. We also work with national third party administrators in both the transportation and education areas.

IOMR employs professional medical staff to perform all types of occupational medical examinations. Our medical staff is DOT certified and registered by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), and New York State licensed, registered and/or certified as Urine Drug Collectors and Breath Alcohol Technicians.

IOMR is available to examine your employees at our office in Amityville. For your convenience we can also arrange for examinations at your facility for a minimum of 25 staff members on weekends and/or evenings.

Scope of Service

Annual & Pre-employment physical examinations may consist of:

  • Medical History

  • Vital Signs - Height, Weight, Blood Pressure, and Pulse

  • Physical Examination 

  • Hearing Test

  • Visual Acuity and Peripheral Field Testing

Additional tests that may be required as part of the exam: 

  • Tuberculosis Test - Application and Reading

  • Urine Drug Testing and/or Collections

  • Breath Alcohol Testing

  • EKG - 12 Lead Electrocardiogram

  • Pulmonary Function Test

  • Audiogram – Baseline 

  • Back Fitness Test - Baseline

  • CBC, Blood Chemistry

  • Chest X-Ray-Baseline or if the Tuberculosis Test is Positive

  • Hepatitis B Titer and/or Immunization

  • OSHA Respiratory Questionnaire

  • Mask Fit Test (Portacount 8020)

  • Asbestos Questionnaire

  • NYS 19A physicals as per NYS DMV19A including computer-generated forms

  •  DOT Physical examinations including computer-generated forms and DOT Cards

  •  Worker’s Compensation examinations including computer-generated forms 

  • After Hours Post Accident Program available 24/7 at your place of business

  • Random Drug & Breath Alcohol Testing Program 

  • We can assist you in the development of a Drug Policy for your company

  •  Reasonable Suspicion Training

  •  Specialized laboratory tests required by OSHA based on your employees’ exposure to toxic and hazardous materials 

  • Radiology Services in-house and for group testing at your location

  •  Immunizations & Infectious Disease Screening required by OSHA, and based on your employees’ exposure

  •  Fitness for Duty Evaluation
